Positioned for Wide Adoption
Hycon’s development is two-front. We are committed to increasing scalability and throughput on the blockchain, and providing simple and functional user platforms for everyone to adopt.
The initial wallet available was linked to the full node and had limited transactional functionality. So far it has been upgraded to allow for transactions using the Ledger Nano and it also allows users to use a mnemonic key to generate a HD wallet.
The Hycon desktop client is a installation client for PC, Mac, and Linux that offers ease of use for transacting on the Hycon network. Users can send and receive transactions without the need to sync with the blockchain with support for hardware wallets.
The Hycon lite client is a chrome browser extension that offers ease of use for transacting on the Hycon network. Users can send and receive transactions without the need to sync with the blockchain.
Currently we support Ledger and Digital BitBox, and are working on adding support for various other hardware wallets.
HYCON’s mobile wallet app, HYCON Pocket, Weing, Pokiit is supported on Android and iOS devices. The app is available for download on Google Play and App Store.
You can purchase a transportation card recharging voucher with HYCON through the Simple Payment WE.ING App. The transportation card recharging voucher can be used to recharge the balance of the transportation card and to be immediately paid at 100,000 online merchants nationwide. In addition, the WE.ING ATM withdrawal service allows over 10,000 ATM devices across the country to exchange HYCON to the KRW without a card or bankbook. https://weing.info
Digital Asset Integrated Management: ‘Pokiit’ is a unified platform for managing digital assets, providing services such as ‘Airdrop’, ‘Staking’, ‘Cross-Swap’, and ‘Event’. Representative service examples include ‘Airdrop’, ‘HYC Staking’, main-net-based HYC and Ethereum-based HYC swap on a one-to-one basis for HYCON holders. https://pokiit.io
The smart contract feature has been added to the HYCON Private Blockchain Platform to meet the demands of the enterprise market.
GHOST allows the publishers of orphaned blocks to receive some small reward, encouraging all miners to converge on the system-defined “longest” chain. This protocol has been in use on the Ethereum network for quite some time and allows Hycon to double its transactional throughput.
Migration of basic components to Rust programming language to increase system performance and prepare for multithreaded nodes down the line.
Hard Fork required, to maintain ASIC resistance. These two hard forks will be combined into one to allow for minimum disruption to the network.
SPECTRE (SPECTRE: Serialization of Proof-of-work Events) aims at a protocol that supports a HYCON consensus mechanism, applies voting algorithms between blocks and generalizes blockchain as a directional, non-circulatory graph to sequence between blocks. Transactions of the SPECTRE HYCON can be completed in seconds, mitigating the conflict between stability and scalability.
Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) is relatively fast because it can generate blocks in many directions unlike Bitcoin or Ethereum blockchain where blocks in which data is stored are generated linearly. Some blockchain platforms utilize DAG technology, but DAG is fast but not free from stability issues. As pointed out that DAG is less secure than linear blockchains, HYCON can develop a platform that combines stability and scalability with DAG and SPECTRE.
The genesis block of Hycon was published in January 2018 to coincide with the 9th anniversary of the bitcoin genesis block. It contained 6 transactions which represented the initial distribution of Hycon.
The Hycon Mainnet launched on schedule at 6pm on June 1st, 2018. Since launch there have been hundreds of thousands of blocks containing millions of transactions.
Hycon coin distribution for ICO participants began on June 20th. Once participants have verified their addresses with us, their tokens are sent out once a day (M-F).
Hycon was listed on the number of exchanges like Bithumb(HYC/KRW), Bittrex Global(HYC/BTC), OKEX (HYC/BTC, HYC/ETH, HYC/USDT), Bit-Z (HYC/BTC, HYC/ETH), OKEX KOREA (HYC/KRW) and CoinZest (HYC/KRW).
An open testbed allows interested people to watch the development process and increase expectations for the functionality to be unveiled.
